... and then, we used the second half of our cabbage to dye a piece of white cotton (the project was a new summer shirt for Elsa). After gentle cooking in the cabbage decoction, it turned into a nice shade of pale blue we both liked... Yet, after the first wash, the colour faded away, back into pure white. I guess I should have used some kind of fixative (I used salt though). Anybody knows ?
Oh,look at your beautiful daughter's hair in the sun! A symphony of blues, Amélie, which remind me of an exhibition of Persian ceramics at The Louvre a few years ago. I cannot help you with the fixative but if you were to conntact the very approachable Annie via her blog, Knitsofacto, I'm sure she could help. She's been playing with natural dyes and yarns for quite a while now.
